Yonex REXIS SPEED
TWU’s REXIS SPEED 1.25 mm sample records 125.7 lb/in stiffness, 29.1% tension loss and a 5.6 spin-potential ratio. Lower test stiffness cannot simply be translated into faster shots.

Laboratory measurements
Lower stiffness means less resistance to deformation in this test. Tension loss is measured under a laboratory protocol, not a prediction of playing hours. Spin potential is a friction-based ratio, not ball RPM.
| Tested sample | Stiffness lb/in | Tension loss % | Spin potential ratio |
|---|---|---|---|

The test tension is not a stringing recommendation. Compare the same gauge and test conditions; the racquet, stroke and stringing method also affect the result on court. On the source page, select All in the material filter to see results for every material.
Compare samples tested under the same conditions
Up to three products with nearby measured stiffness, matching diameter, material and test conditions. This is a data comparison, not a ranking of suitability.

The matched comparison with COMFORT
At 1.25 mm, 51 lb and Fast speed, COMFORT records 128.6 lb/in, 24.0% loss and a 6.4 ratio. SPEED is 2.9 lb/in less stiff and loses 5.1 percentage points more tension. Stiffness and tension maintenance do not always follow the same ordering.
Without repeatability information, the small stiffness difference should not become a ranking of perceived feel. The table also measures neither ball speed nor actual playing RPM.
What polyester within a multifilament means
Yonex specifies nylon and polyester multifilament with FORTIMO. Including polyester as a constituent does not make the entire construction equivalent to a conventional polyester monofilament.
The laboratory’s broad Nylon category and the manufacturer’s detailed composition have different scopes. Keep the specific construction descriptions of SPEED and COMFORT separate even where broad material labels coincide.
Define the situation in which you want more speed
You might test depth from short preparation rather than maximum pace from a large swing. Separate returns, defence and volleys from groundstrokes with ample preparation time.
If the ball seems to travel farther for the same effort, also track variation in direction and length. Repeating frequent shots more reliably matters more than an isolated impression of rebound.
Include the response after use
The 29.1% laboratory loss is not a fixed service life. Track target depth, main-string return, fraying and notching as playing time accumulates.
Start a COMFORT comparison with fresh strings on both sides and match usage afterwards. Otherwise, product differences and ageing differences become difficult to separate.
Racquets to compare
Numbers are suggested only when the maker publishes a tension range.
