HEAD Speed PRO 2026
The Speed Pro 2026 combines a 100 in² head with an 18×20 pattern. TW lists strung reference values of 326 g, 328 swingweight and 61 RA. It has more mass than the MP but a similar swingweight, making depth control and string response more useful distinctions than a simple heavy-versus-light label.

The increase over the MP is in total mass
TW lists 326 g for the Pro and 318 g for the MP, with swingweights of 328 and 329. The Pro's 31.98 cm strung balance lies closer to the handle than the MP's 33.02 cm. Weight in the hand and rotational resistance during a swing are different quantities.
This does not make every movement equally demanding. A real stroke rotates about several axes, and the player accelerates the arm as well as the racquet. Check whether the additional mass remains manageable during repeated high-ball exchanges and sustained volley preparation.
Choose 18×20 for an outcome, not merely a lower trajectory
TW positions the Pro around precise trajectory control. Pattern counts alone cannot tell you how many degrees launch changes or how much spin is lost. Material, gauge, central spacing and reference tension also affect the response.
A useful reason to test the Pro is to reduce variation in length on a fully prepared drive. Check depth from a low defensive contact at the same time. More repeatable attacking balls may not compensate for repeatedly leaving rushed replies short.
Pro and Tour are different combinations, not a simple hierarchy
The 2026 Tour uses 97 in² and 16×19, with TW reference values of 323 g and 325 swingweight. Head area, pattern and mass all change against the Pro. Calling it a lighter Pro misses those differences.
The Pro lets you assess a larger 100 in² surface with a denser pattern. With the Tour, examine where your contact falls on the smaller head first. Compare depth on off-centre balls and variation on clean drives rather than choosing by the model suffix.
Separate a firm string response from frame stiffness
TW lists 61 RA and a 48–57 lb tension range. A low frame RA does not guarantee a soft response from a high-tension polyester installation. Frame bending and stringbed deformation are separate properties.
Check the demo's string model, gauge and installation history. Short depth or an altered response from old polyester should not automatically become a verdict on 18×20. Match fresh-string condition and subsequent playing time in the next comparison.
Link the return to the first attacking ball
Test a short block against a fast serve, followed by a ball you must accelerate yourself. Redirecting incoming pace and generating depth against a slower ball make different demands. Check that both actions remain repeatable.
