Solinco Hyper-G
Hyper-G is an angular co-polyester, but shape alone is an incomplete explanation. TWU’s 1.25 mm sample records 218.3 lb/in stiffness, 24.7% tension loss and a spin-potential ratio of 6.1. The ratio is neither playing RPM nor a review score.

Laboratory measurements
Lower stiffness means less resistance to deformation in this test. Tension loss is measured under a laboratory protocol, not a prediction of playing hours. Spin potential is a friction-based ratio, not ball RPM.
| Tested sample | Stiffness lb/in | Tension loss % | Spin potential ratio |

The test tension is not a stringing recommendation. Compare the same gauge and test conditions; the racquet, stroke and stringing method also affect the result on court. On the source page, select All in the material filter to see results for every material.
Compare samples tested under the same conditions
Up to three products with nearby measured stiffness, matching diameter, material and test conditions. This is a data comparison, not a ranking of suitability.

Start by comparing 1.20 with 1.25
Under the same 51 lb, Fast conditions, the 1.20 mm sample records 194.9 lb/in stiffness and 25.7% loss; the 1.25 mm records 218.3 and 24.7%. Both have a spin-potential ratio of 6.1. Here, the thinner sample is less stiff but does not have a higher ratio.
Assuming thinner always means more spin would miss that distinction. Use the measurements as a starting point and check the actual change in launch and length when you change gauge.
Read 4G and RPM Blast at the same diameter
At 1.25 mm, 4G reports 258.9 lb/in, 21.3% loss and 3.9; RPM Blast reports 233.7, 33.3% and 4.6. Hyper-G is less stiff and has a higher spin-related ratio among these samples, but that does not establish better results for every swing.
Each metric answers a different question: deformation resistance, tension change during the test and a friction-related potential. Adding them into a single overall score would obscure those distinctions.
Keep Soft and Round distinct
Hyper-G Soft and Round are separate products. The original Hyper-G’s measurements and geometry should not be copied across variants. A shared brand and similar colour do not establish identical coatings or construction.
Main and cross placement matter in hybrids. The surface and wear of the other string can affect main-string movement, limiting what can be predicted from a full-bed impression.
Evaluate repeatability after use
Record depth and main-string return after several outings, not only the bite of a fresh central hit. Notching and changes in inter-string movement can alter response even when your swing feels unchanged.
Choose gauge from both the response you need and observed wear in your frame. Laboratory loss percentages should not become a fixed replacement timetable.
Racquets to compare
Numbers are suggested only when the maker publishes a tension range.
