Solinco Whiteout V2 305
Whiteout V2 305 combines a 98 in² head and constant 21.7 mm beam with a 328 TW swingweight reference. The important comparison with Blackout is how preparation and contact quality hold up, not just 305 versus 300 g.

The 16×19, standard-length V2 is a specific product
Solinco’s table lists 98 in², 305 g, 320 mm balance, 27 inches and 16×19, with a 21.7 mm constant beam. TW also sells differently patterned and extended Whiteout models. Confirm pattern and length before borrowing a review or stringing instruction from another Whiteout.
The official V2 description emphasizes a thinner beam, flexibility and Foam Tech Core. Blackout V2 instead has a 100 in² head and 23.5–26–23 mm beam. Both can interest an attacking player, but their geometry gives different questions to investigate in a demo.
A small weight difference can conceal a larger swingweight difference
TW’s Whiteout V2 reference is 323 g strung, 33.02 cm balance, 328 swingweight and 65 RA. Its Blackout V2 reference is 320 g, 32.51 cm, 317 and 66 RA. The three-gram weight gap alone understates the difference in the published swingweight.
Include a late defensive forehand, a return against body serves and the shot after a wide recovery. If Whiteout feels solid at contact but preparation repeatedly falls behind, record both observations. A stability benefit during one collision can coexist with greater work during the preceding movement.
Arch-2 and foam do not make RA a comfort guarantee
TW describes Arch-2 construction, 40T carbon reinforcement at 3 and 9 o’clock, Liquid Crystal Technology and foam; Solinco’s official page describes Foam Tech Core and greater flexibility. Those are attributed construction claims rather than results of a test performed by this site.
The 65 RA retail reference addresses one aspect of frame bending. String stiffness, tension, contact location and how forcefully you swing also affect the experience. Judge the complete setup over repeated strokes rather than choosing a stiff string solely because the frame has a moderate RA.
Keep the manufacturer’s range and the retailer extension distinct
Solinco gives 45–50 lb; TW lists 45–55 lb and explicitly explains that it extended the range. Neither 50 nor 55 is a universal target for control. Use the material, gauge and current condition of the stringbed when interpreting a setting.
The official 16×19 instructions list skips 7T, 9T, 7B, 9B, main tie-off 8B, cross start 5T and cross tie-off 6B. These belong to the reviewed pattern. A Whiteout 18×20 needs its own instructions; retailer H/T and manufacturer T/B letters should not be silently substituted.
Control should survive the second demanding shot
TW presents V2 as an incremental layup update that retains the previous target specifications. That does not establish a quantified improvement over every V1 sample. A familiar V1 and a V2 demo should be compared with matched string type, gauge and similar string age.
Use a wide recovery followed by a change of direction, and a first volley followed by a second low volley. Count clean contacts and useful depth across the full sequence. This makes it easier to distinguish the frame you can hit one excellent ball with from the setup you can manage repeatedly.
