Wilson Japan lists SKU WR201311U2, matching the TW retail family WR201311U. The product has a 27-inch length, 21.5 mm beam and 16×19 pattern. TW describes the finish as paying homage to the Pro Staff family; that does not make it the same racquet as the older Pro Staff 85.
TW identifies aramid and graphite construction, Paradigm Bending and FORTYFIVE. Those describe this product’s materials and layup. A heritage name or athlete association cannot establish another racquet’s head size, a professional’s custom mass or a current string setup.
Compare 332 g with the Blade 98’s 323 g, not just balance feel
TW gives the Classic 332 g strung, a 32 cm balance and 325 swingweight. The Blade 98 16×19 V10 reference is 323 g, 33.02 cm and 322. The Classic’s more handle-oriented balance coexists with greater total mass and slightly higher published swingweight.
Nine grams can matter during repeated preparation even when a racquet feels manageable at rest. Separate blocking a fast return from accelerating a slow ball yourself. The small swingweight gap also needs verification on the actual finished units rather than being treated as a universal handling ranking.
A thin beam does not make every deformation equally soft
The Classic uses a constant 21.5 mm beam and TW lists 66 RA. The Blade 98 V10’s 21.5/21.5/20.5 mm taper accompanies 61 RA. Beam thickness, material arrangement and bending response are different quantities; one thin-looking section does not calculate the rest.
TW describes Paradigm Bending as tuning flex between hoop and shaft and FORTYFIVE as changing bending through fibre orientation. During your demo, record vibration feel separately from direction on lateral off-centre contacts. The reference table does not give twistweight to quantify those contacts.
Choose strings for the response you need, within the model guidance
TW publishes 47–57 lb. The Classic name does not require natural gut, a professional hybrid or a high-tension polyester. Use a familiar material and gauge, noting the installed tension and date before comparing with the Blade or your existing frame.
On a low defensive ball, distinguish a late contact from a stringbed that no longer gives the familiar response. On a prepared drive, track variation in length. A tension adjustment cannot remove the physical demand of accelerating a 332 g reference setup.
Confirm the decision late in the demo, and order the correct parts
Include high backhands after several service games and the first volley after a demanding rally. Log where contact drifts late and whether defensive depth remains available. The quality of one central hit is less decisive than the shots that recur when preparation time is short.
Wilson Japan lists grommet part WR8434901001 for this model. Use the exact model and part reference when replacing worn components; do not infer compatibility across the whole Pro Staff family. Recording the finished setup also helps a later purchase reproduce the racquet you tested.
