The 2026 series had a Japanese release in November 2025

Prince Japan identifies this frame as 7TJ257 in the 2026 TOUR series, with a late-November 2025 release and grey-blue/turquoise colour. A series year and a release date can legitimately differ. Keep the code when buying a used frame or ordering a second one.

The US Tennis Warehouse Tour 98 2026 listing describes a black racquet with a different grip and beam specification. The shared Tour 98 name does not establish that every regional detail is interchangeable. This page keeps the Japanese manufacturer specification as its primary record.

305 g and the published 290 swingweight need different qualifications

The Japanese specification is 98 in², 27 inches, 305 g average frame weight, 315 mm balance and 16×19. Its three-section beam is 23.5–23.5–21 mm. The manufacturer also publishes 290 swingweight, without explicitly naming the measurement basis in that table.

TW separately lists 323 g strung, 32.49 cm balance, 323 swingweight, 64 RA and a 23–23–20 mm beam for its US listing. Do not treat 290 to 323 as a measured increase caused by stringing the same sample. Market identity and measurement conditions must be matched first.

ATS and the layup explain the design aim, not your result

Prince describes TeXtreme×ZYLON reinforcement in the shaft and at 10 and 2 o’clock, an updated layup, enlarged grommet holes and the P.V.S II elastomer system. These address different parts of the structure and vibration path; they are not interchangeable names for a softer frame.

The manufacturer’s claims concern torsional rigidity, string movement and feel. A firmer response can still coexist with damped vibration. During a demo, record whether a slightly off-centre volley holds direction as well as how the impact feels; neither observation alone measures the other.

40–48–56 lb belongs to the Japanese product table

Prince Japan prints 40–48–56 lb. The outer values define the published range and 48 is its listed middle value. TW gives its US listing 48–58 lb. Neither range should silently overwrite the other, and the middle number is not a universal prescription for every string.

The Japanese replacement-parts code is V4007370. Use the frame code when ordering a bumper/grommet set and confirm the model-specific stringing instructions. A shared 98 in², 16×19 description is insufficient to establish identical hole positions or replacement parts.

A comparison with Whiteout starts with two different beam designs

Solinco’s Whiteout V2 305 also lists 98 in², 305 g and 16×19, but has a constant 21.7 mm beam. This is a useful same-nominal-weight comparison for someone considering the TOUR 98, while still allowing for different stringbeds and mass distribution.

Include a deep approach followed by the first volley, a blocked return and a high contact above shoulder level. Record preparation, landing depth and unwanted face rotation separately. A frame that feels precise on easy feeds may ask for more work when the contact point changes.
