Wilson CLASH 100 V3.0
The Clash 100 V3 lists 295 g unstrung, a 310 mm balance, a 100 in² head and a 16×19 pattern. Its flexible-frame reputation should be evaluated separately from the behaviour of the installed stringbed.

What 295 g and 310 mm establish
The manufacturer lists a 295 g mass and 310 mm balance. Against a 300 g, 320 mm frame in the same head-size class, both the amount and distribution of mass differ. The handleward balance is relevant, but comparable swingweight is needed to quantify rotational effort.
Test whether you can prepare the face early on fast returns and consecutive volleys. These specifications alone do not establish how steadily the frame will resist a heavy incoming ball.
A flexible frame can still carry a firm stringbed
Frame bending and string deformation are different components of the response. A polyester with high dynamic stiffness can produce a firm response in a flexible frame. Keeping the machine tension unchanged while switching materials is not a stiffness-matched experiment.
Track vibration sensation, depth and launch separately. A comfortable impression during a brief demo does not establish suitability for an arm-pain problem.
What to log within the 50–60 lb range
Wilson’s Japanese listing specifies 50–60 lb. Begin by recording the string model, gauge and installation date, then isolate what changes when the frame changes.
If balls begin landing long, examine contact location, face angle and changes in string movement with use before treating more tension as the only answer. This helps separate setup ageing from a frame mismatch.
Make the reason for choosing a Clash explicit
Decide whether you primarily want easier preparation, a different impact sensation or more room to experiment with strings. Those are distinct aims.
Include late returns and low volleys as well as comfortable baseline rallies. Late in a set, note whether you are compensating by taking a larger swing simply to maintain depth. Those observations are more useful than the word flexible on its own.
